Japan Tourism and Nasu: Stunning Tochigi and a Very Rich Culture

Japan is a fantastic nation to visit for tourists because every single prefecture is blessed with numerous gems. The same applies to internal tourism because Japan is very rich in culture and history. Also, because of the transportation system then it is easy to connect with areas irrespective of distance. This notably applies to the Shinkansen train system and the many airports which serve this country. Therefore, it is easy to mix your holiday time between major cities and the countryside.

Tochigi is blessed with stunning nature and this prefecture provides many “special gems” because of the cultural and historical reality of places like Nikko. The main focus in this article applies the Nasu area but throughout Tochigi you have many amazing places to visit.

Nasu and the hot spring area of Kuroiso is a fantastic tourist destination because the Nasu mountain range provides many amazing places to visit. Hot springs are also ideal for relaxing after a long walk or because you want to refresh your mind and body. The area is also blessed with many museums and places to visit for leisure. Therefore, it is a multi-purpose tourist destination which appeals to all age groups.

The Nasu  area is blessed with many hot springs and Yumoto, Omaru, and Takao are well known for the splendor they provide. This part of Tochigi is based at the foot of the volcano in Nasu and within a short distance of travelling you have stunning scenery.

Mount Chausu is certainly a place to visit and from late March to November you have an aerial tramway, which enables you to see amazing backdrops in all directions. This mountain is the main peak of this beautiful mountain range. Also, once smitten by the Nasu area then surely you will return again given the opportunity because each season is unique and provides a beautiful break from the stresses of life.

If you take the aerial tramway then the views from the top of Mount Chausu, which is 1,915 meters above sea level, will always stay with you. It takes around 40 to 55 minutes depending on your walking speed from the ninth station. However, the walk is really worth it because the stunning panoramic views from the top of the summit are a wonder to behold.

On the (http://www.jnto.go.jpJapan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) website it gives great information about Tochigi and all tourist destinations throughout Japan. With regards to the Nasu area then JNTO comments that “Shiobara-onsen-kyo Hot Spring Village is located slightly to the southwest of Nasu along the Shiobara Valley at the upper reaches of the Houki-gawa River, and is commonly known simply as “Shiobara’s Eleven Hot Springs” due to the presence of eleven hot spring sources.”

“The valley, which offers spectacular views, particularly when the autumn tints are at their best, is also known for its two suspension bridges: the 320-meter Momiji-dai Suspension Bridge at the mouth of the Village, and the Mikaeri-no-Tsuribashi Suspension Bridge (literally “the bridge of retrospection”) along the promenade. Mikaeri-no-taki Falls is a well-known scenic spot.”

Like previously mentioned, you have so many stunning places like Nikko to visit in Tochigi Prefecture. Therefore, this article is providing a brief glimpse into one aspect of tourism in this lovely part of Japan.
