His Eminence, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah of Hezbollah (Hizbullah), once more warned Christians about the menace of ISIS (Islamic State – IS) and al-Qaeda groups like al-Nusra. Nasrallah made it known that Takfiris kill all and sundry irrespective if Alawite, Christian, Shia, Sunni or whatever. Therefore, Nasrallah stated to Christians: “Who will protect your women from enslavement and your churches from destruction?”

Of course, the reference by Nasrallah refers to the mass exodus of Christians from Iraq and Syria. At the same time, Christians are now openly being beheaded on beaches by ISIS in Libya while Western powers just stand back and do nothing. This reality is a dire warning to Christians throughout the Middle East that focus on the empty words of America, France, and the United Kingdom.

Takfiri Islamists main hatred in Syria is towards the Alawites, Shia communities and Sunni Muslims that support the government. At the same time, Christians face the sword of ISIS and al-Nusra (and an array of other terrorist groups) unless they accept being dhimmis. Given this reality, Nasrallah focuses on the Takfiri threat to all religious communities throughout the region.

In another article by Modern Tokyo Times it was stated: It is ironic that Hezbollah in Lebanon under His Eminence, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, is more concerned about the plight of Christians and other religious minorities, rather than the so-called democratic West. Indeed, it is abundantly clear that America, France and the United Kingdom are fully behind the emptying of Christians throughout the Middle East based on their close ties with feudal Gulf monarchies. Therefore, while Saudi Arabia bans the Christian faith it is clear that Western meddling in Iraq, Libya and Syria is leading to a catastrophe for the Christian populations of these nations. Indeed, it is even hard to say nations about Iraq and Libya because Gulf and Western destabilization polices have led to failed states. Syria, thankfully, is fighting tenaciously in order to preserve the religious mosaic and to prevent another failed state.”

The main theme for Nasrallah was the continuing threat of Takfiris to all communities of Lebanon and Syria – and further beyond. Nasrallah also hit out at America because this nation – that likes to meddle – is the same country that enabled the catastrophe to befell the Christians, Mandaeans, Shabaks and Yazidis of Iraq. Of course, in terms of deaths then it is the Muslims of Iraq that have died in enormous numbers because of endless terrorist attacks and blatant sectarianism aimed at the Shia. Despite this, non-Muslim minorities have been cleansed at a much higher rate therefore today all non-Muslim faith groups face a bleak future in Iraq. This reality only existed once America and allies of this nation overthrew the government of Saddam Hussein.

Nasrallah chides America by stating What has the US-led coalition done to protect Iraq and Syria from ISIL (ISIS)?” He continued “the number of their airstrikes throughout a year is much less than the number of “Israeli” raids on Lebanon in the July war or its raids on Gaza… Everyone knows that “Daesh” is moving from province to province in Syria and Iraq under the eye of the United States.”

Nasrallah made it abundantly clear that the main threat to the region is ISIS and other sectarian Takfiri groups like al-Nusra. Him eminence stressed “the biggest manifestation of this scheme is Daesh [The Arabic Acronym for “ISIL”], as we are before a scheme that is moving on the ground — it is killing, abducting, slaughtering and destroying… Daesh is the headline of this period and it is not a small group. It is present in Syria and Iraq, in Sinai on Palestine’s border, and in Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, North Africa and Nigeria, and it has recently showed its presence on the ground in Saudi Arabia’s Qatif.”

Modern Tokyo Times stated in another article about Hezbollah that: Nasrallah, a deeply religious man and a person of great knowledge, understands the brutal deeds of Takfiris. Similarly, the leader of Hezbollah understands fully the forces behind their power base in order to do the bidding of Gulf and Western powers. In this sense, Gulf and Western nations are playing the same dangerous game unleashed against Afghanistan in the 1980s and early 1990s. However, this time it is clear that the leverages are not so binding even in the short-term. Despite this reality, NATO powers and Gulf feudal monarchies are boosting the forces of sectarianism and Takfiri fanaticism in order to forge their long-term agenda. Yet against all the odds the nation state of Syria refuses to give in to such destabilization policies.”

Last year Nasrallah said “I want to ask the Christians before the Muslims: You are seeing what is taking place in Syria. I am not causing sectarian evocations. Let no one say that Sayyed is doing so. Not at all! Where are your churches? Where are your patriarchs? Where are your nuns? Where are your crosses? Where are the statues of Mary (pbuh)? Where are your sanctities? Where are all of these? What has the world done for them? What did the world do for them previously in Iraq? Aren’t these groups causing all of this in all the regions?”

Nasrallah is clearly warning the Christians of Lebanon, Iraq and Syria – and all religious minorities like the Alawites (Syria) and Druze (Lebanon and Syria) – alongside mainstream Sunni Islam, that: “If these (Takfiri groups) win in Syria, and God willing they will not, Syria will become worse than Afghanistan.”

Overall, it is clear by the actions in Lebanon and Syria that Hezbollah is focused on the bigger picture unlike certain rivals in Lebanon that are shortsighted. If the mosaic survives in Lebanon and Syria, then this will be based on the tenaciousness of the Syrian government and the movement of Hezbollah. In this sense, Nasrallah maybe a potent individual within Shia Islam in Lebanon but in truth he is a religious leader that cares about all the embattled communities of Lebanon and Syria.
