Prime Minister Davutoglu and President Erdogan of Turkey have collectively conspired against Syria by supporting various terrorist and sectarian forces against this nation. Indeed, when Kurds were openly being killed in Syria by ISIS (Islamic State – IS) in Kobane (Kobani) – in clear view of NATO Turkey – the response was nothing until international pressure upped the ante. Therefore, the suspected ISIS attack against the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations in Turkey will be met by hypocritical words by the two main political leaders in modern day Turkey.
Members of the Socialist Youth Associations were showing the “light of Turkey” whereby concerned citizens desired to help the people of Kobane. This is in stark contrast with the two main political leaders of Turkey that manipulate emotive language in order to spread greater division within society.
Socialist youths met in Suruç full of life, ambition, solidarity, and with enormous compassion, in order to lay the foundation of assisting Kurds in Kobane. These individuals of compassion and love desired to show “the beautiful face of humanity,” compared with the darkness of ISIS and the brutal intrigues of Erdogan and Davutoglu. After all, ISIS had laid siege to Kobane in the past and killed untold numbers of Kurds in full view of the armed forces of Turkey. On top of this, ISIS recently butchered Kurds once more in this part of Syria before being forced out by Kurdish forces. Therefore, youths in Turkey imbued with the passion of socialism desired to help the Kurds of Kobane based on the bonds of humanity.
The Guardian reports “Monday’s bombing was the bloodiest such attack on Turkish soil since twin bombs killed at least 50 people in the border town of Reyhanlı in 2013… The victims had reportedly planned to travel to Kobani to deliver toys, plant a memorial forest, as well as build a library and a playground.”
Kurdish Daily News states that the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) clearly points the finger at the current political elites in Turkey. Therefore, the Kurdish Daily News reports that the “KCK stated that the AKP government supported ISIS in order to use it as an instrument of its policies in the Middle East, and aimed to dissolve the revolution in Rojava. As a result of this policy, the border between Turkey and Syria became a haven for ISIS and gangs from all over the world used this border for logistical and mobilization purposes. KCK said that the biggest supporter of ISIS fascism in the Middle East was the AKP government, and the attack in Suruç was done under the knowledge of Turkish Intelligence Agency (MIT) in order to target Rojava Revolution and intimidate those who showed solidarity with the revolution.”
Indeed, without the assistance of NATO Turkey and funding from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, then the enormous bloodletting in Syria would never had reached such a terrible proportion. However, when it became more than apparent that the Syrian government couldn’t be defeated, despite enormous damage being done by outside nations utilizing terrorism and sectarianism, then Turkey upped the ante. This applies to Erdogan and Davutoglu allowing NATO Turkey to become a major conduit for international terrorists, Takfiri jihadists, mercenaries, the intrigues of major international security services and a supplier of military arms.
The barbaric massacre of socialists by ISIS in Suruç wasn’t a singular event. On the contrary, it is based on the intrigues of NATO Turkey and other forces that seek to overthrow the secular government of Syria. At the same time, the Kurdish angle and the role of the AKP can’t be dismissed and the same applies to MIT.
Even the Vice President of America, Joe Biden, linked NATO Turkey to terrorism. However, this doesn’t seem to worry Obama and NATO too much. Biden stated: “The Turks, who are great friends — I have a great relationship with Erdogan, whom I spend a lot of time with — the Saudis, the Emiratis, etc. What were they doing? They were so determined to take down (Syrian President Bashar) Assad and essentially have a proxy Sunni-Shia war.”
Biden further says: “What did they do? They poured hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of tons of weapons into anyone who would fight against Assad — except that the people who were being supplied were al-Nusra and al-Qaeda and the extremist elements of jihadis coming from other parts of the world.”
The massacre of socialist youths killed by Islamist Takfiris in Suruç didn’t happen based on a barbaric isolated incident. On the contrary, the intrigues of Erdogan and Davutoglu against the government of Syria and aimed at the Kurds is part of a much bigger picture. This picture, like Biden notes, applies to Turkey emboldening ISIS and other brutal Takfiri Islamist and sectarian forces against both secular Syria and aimed at containing the Kurds. Therefore, the martyrs of Suruç were slaughtered based on internal murky dealings and the geopolitical policies of Ankara based on the policies of Erdogan and Davutoglu.
