President Obama promised real change but clearly this never materialized. Instead, greater surveillance and increasing debt became the reality alongside a chaotic foreign policy that is helping to boost al-Qaeda affiliates and ISIS (Islamic State – IS). However, with Rand Paul entering the 2016 US Presidential Election then at last you have an independent thinker that seeks real change.
Rand Paul in Kentucky said: “Today begins the journey to take America back” during the launch of his campaign.
Immediately Rand Paul addressed the concerns of the American people because of the growing reality of “Big Brother” under the current leader of America. He stated: “The Washington machine that gobbles up our freedoms and invades every nook and cranny of our lives must be stopped.”
Rand Paul is known for his enormous integrity based around the libertarian beliefs that mean so much to this highly respected politician. In areas related to anti-drone and anti-surveillance areas then clearly Rand Paul is speaking for many individuals who are concerned about these important issues. At the same time, he is conservative in areas related to family issues. After all, the backbone of the family within the development of America, since the founding fathers reached the shores of America, is undeniable.
On the Rand Paul website it is clear that spending issues are of major importance in various areas of government expenditure. He stresses: “Reckless levels of spending in Washington have been occurring for far too long. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the size of government has grown by more than 100 percent in the last decade. To put this in perspective, the federal government spends more than $10,280 per person, over $3,000 more per individual than what we were spending in 2001.”
In the area of foreign policy and military action it is clear that Rand Paul is disillusioned by past Democrat and Republican objectives. This is based on the reality of involving America in distant wars despite no defined long-term goals. Often, for example in Iraq and Syria, it appears that Christians are left to suffer in the Middle East and this applies to being cleansed, killed and having holy places demolished. In other words, only if war became essential would Rand Paul support this but even then with “a heavy heart.”
Events in Iraq and Syria highlight the utter folly and hypocrisy currently being enacted by a very estranged foreign policy in Washington. Rand Paul states: “I think we have to understand first how we got here… I think one of the reasons why ISIS has been emboldened is because we have been arming their allies. We have been allied with ISIS in Syria.”
He continues: “We have been fighting alongside al Qaeda, fighting alongside ISIS”
The conclusion of this reality according to Rand Paul is that “ISIS is now emboldened and in two countries. But here’s the anomaly. We’re with ISIS in Syria. We’re on the same side of the war. So, those who want to get involved to stop ISIS in Iraq are allied with ISIS in Syria. That is real contradiction to this whole policy.”
In other words, “If we were to get rid of Assad” then the brutal outcome would be a “a jihadist wonderland in Syria.” Given the ongoing massacres of religious minorities by ISIS and various al-Qaeda affiliates, then clearly it is difficult for the current Obama administration to justify its Middle East policy.
The BBC reports about Rand Paul that: “He has proven to be a thorn in the side of many of his fellow Republicans, openly challenging them on issues such as government surveillance, drone policies and sanctions on Iran and Cuba.”
BBC continues: “Mr Paul doesn’t sound like your average Republican presidential candidate, and at times his event didn’t look much like a traditional Republican presidential kick-off. Very early on, he criticised both Republicans and Democrats for being creatures of a political establishment that is unresponsive to the American people.”
Rand Paul says “I am running for president to return our country to the principles of liberty and limited government.”
The above strong statement needs listening to because America’s debt is enormous and in the area of international relations then clearly no new vision is emerging. Instead, big government is boosting a military arms race while involving itself in murky conflicts. At the same time, civil liberties are being stripped away based on many false flags. Also, for too many Americans they have been disenfranchised from the political process by perennial stale Republican and Democrat governments. Overall, it is clear that Rand Paul stands out from the crowd based on strong held beliefs, being a free thinker, supporting the rights of privacy, tackling big government – and in a host of other essential areas.
