The Visegrad Group (V4) of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, should focus on solidifying and developing to a much greater extent. This equally applies to being open to Austria based on geopolitics and then expanding gradually to include other nations, for example, Slovenia and Romania, in relation to shared interests. However, the main focus should be on opening up to Austria because this is in the vested interests of all concerned given the dictatorial tendencies of Germany under Chancellor Merkel.
Indeed, with the United Kingdom voting to pull out of the European Union (EU) based on major issues, notably in relation to mass immigration and sovereignty, then in order to contain the excesses of France and Germany, the V4 should focus on strengthening internally and being open to becoming the V5 based on Austria joining. In other words, with European civilization and shared Christian roots being espoused openly by V4 nations, then Austria joining would give increasing cultural and political clout.
The V4 group – hopefully becoming the V5 – should enhance business opportunities, infrastructural developments, educational initiatives, attracting international investment, and other essential areas, to a higher level. After all, the EU throughout its history developed in many directions that were far from the initial basis of this political group of nations. Therefore, all these Central European nations should enhance the founding focus of Visegrad, while increasing and protecting important stances within the EU.
Péter Szijjártó, the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, highlights the intrusive nature of the EU. Also, the policies of the V4 focus on the common European home that is being endangered by liberal elites, who are intent on altering the natural dynamics of Europe.
Péter Szijjártó said, “The Hungarian have the exclusive right to decide who they wish to live with and this is also an issue of sovereignty; Brussels and the Brussels institutions cannot decide this instead of them.”
He further states that the national security of Hungary – hence all V4 nations – is brazenly being endangered based on the EU’s “irresponsible immigration policy.” Indeed, the sight of millions of individuals fleeing to Europe based on the folly of Merkel in Germany – and then facing a quota diktat by traditional EU elites – further highlights the need for the V4 to stand up collectively. This equally applies to bringing in nations like Austria where internal politics is fracturing based on similar fears.
In a past article, Modern Tokyo Times said “Chancellor Merkel of Germany gave more than a wink to hopeful migrants to flee to Europe because the European Union (EU) was nothing more than an open door in her egotistical mind. This reality made an already complex situation become a smugglers paradise and a nightmare for many European nations. On top of this, Merkel was intent on bullying smaller regional nations into submission based on a quota system and open Europe. Not only this, when it became clear that Merkel’s policies were unleashing chaos then Merkel turned to Turkey – a nation that continues to occupy Northern Cyprus, jails journalists, persecutes the Kurdish minority and enables Takfiri Sunni Islamist terrorist groups to utilize border areas with neighboring Syria. In other words, the anti-European Merkel now promised to give special incentives to the draconian leader of Turkey that would further erode the notion of European identity and culture.”
It is essential that independent nations inside the V4 continue to promote European values and the common roots of Christianity, democracy, science, and shared values. If Austria joins this group then not only will Central Europe be strengthened, but equally important the EU will be safeguarded. This is based on parity and transparency that will overcome the diktats of liberal elites, including the current leader of Germany. After all, she did not consult fellow EU nations – nor follow procedures – before opening the gates of Europe and making an already problematic problem turn into a nightmare.
Poland, the nation that currently holds the V4 presidency for one year, released a statement stressing, “The Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary have a common historical legacy, and cherish common values arising from Europe’s Christian roots. The Visegrad Group must be close to the people. That is why we will take the initiative to forge closer ties between our societies, as well as promote and propagate the cultures of Central European countries through educational and research projects.”
It is incumbent on V4 nations to work in the collective interests of respective citizens while protecting the foundation stones of the EU based on a shared European home. If Austria joins this Central European initiative then all nations will gain further based on multiple factors. Therefore, it is hoped that V4 will expand to V5 in the near future, with further growth possible, because the EU needs sanity to become at the heart of a revitalized EU based on a shared common European home.
